North Warren EMS

Funding

The North Warren Emergency Squad is primarily funded by billing. Our billing practices are designed to enable us to recover what we can from those who can pay without creating hardships for those who cannot. Patients who cannot afford to pay can call an (800) number on the bill and inform us of their situation. It is our intent to try to recover what we can, not to burden our patients.

The reason we are able to do this is because of the donations we receive from kind citizens like yourself, as well as yearly payments from the towns we serve. It are these multiple sources of income that allow us to provide the excellent services we currently provide without burdening those in need. As with any charity, your donations are tax-deductible. Please donate today to the North Warren Emergency Squad, PO Box 323, Chestertown, NY, 12817.

A substantial part of our income is from donations and public money. Although your taxes will never directly increase due to our spending, the towns of Chester and Horicon collectively contribute about 25% of our income. Since your support is important, we have taken several steps to ensure its protection. We have a 100% volunteer Board of Directors and Personnel Committee and require two signatures on every check we write. In the entire history of our organization, no Paid member has ever voted on salary or benefits; that is something your town, state, and federal government cannot say. Our strict policies on Conflicts of Interest in addition to our Code of Conduct offer a high level of protection to your contributions. Our responsible spending practices and volunteer labor has saved tens of thousands of dollars throughout our history.
